2-hour WorkshopsA 2 – hour workshop for those interested in a fun and playful way to improve their general health, fitness and well-being. We also provide specific workshops for anxiety, asthma, chronic pain and sleep issues. Focus is on how breathing can be optimal, body awareness, posture, breath and vocalization. It is not physically strenuous so this workshop is appropriate for everyone regardless of age or physical ability. It is not recommended for those with serious health issues. In order to restore healthy breathing in such cases, the 10-hour course is more appropriate. Registration required.
Fees Fees will vary depending on the program $25 - $100. |
10-Hour Breath Retraining CourseConsultation/registration will determine how much breath retraining will benefit you.
The 10 hour course is spread over a 5 - 10 day period in a small group situation. There is breathing and body awareness homework each day, which gradually builds in terms of commitment of time but as the exercises are incorporated into your daily life, they become unnecessary. A scheduled telephone follow-up call two weeks after the course will see how you are improving, any troubleshooting, answering questions, and discussion as to how to further improve. If you need more support, it is provided for up to one year. You can attend additional classes as needed and can have on-going support through email or telephone, again for up to one year. Skype sessions are also available for private courses. Contact us for more details. Fees The cost is $500. If you find another person to do the course with you, the cost is then only $400 each. Family rates apply. Promotions are offered through the year. A support person can attend the course free of charge. They can make a big difference in the degree of success a client may have. However, the support person does not try to learn the breathing exercises. A non-refundable $100 deposit is necessary to secure a place. A post-dated cheque payment plan is available for those in economic hardship. Email transfer through your webbanking is also possible as well as credit card on site (3% surcharge applies) If the only reason you cannot do this course is because of economic hardship, contact me directly. One of our missions is to make Buteyko accessible to everyone. When I am training new Buteyko Breathing Educators, clients are needed as part of the practicum. There are limited spaces available for a 60% reduction in the cost to clients. Courses can also be set up in your home or area where courses are not usually held. Contact us by email. |
8-Hour Children's Breath Retraining CourseChildren learn to improve their breathing very quickly and see benefits often faster than adults. Their exercises are quite different but easy to learn. Activities, games and challenges are part of this course as well as awareness exercises, recommendations for natural strategies for dealing with anxiety, inability to fall asleep, behavioural problems, illness and chronic conditions.
The first class is with parents only and takes about 2 hours. We cover the basics of the Buteyko method and why each exercise is done. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the program to model good breathing behaviour. Subsequent classes are with the parents (or caregiver) and the child in private or small group sessions for 45 – 60 minutes. Workbooks and equipment are provided. There is breathing and body awareness homework each day, which gradually builds in terms of commitment of time to about 20 – 30 minutes a day but then tapers off again as breathing is retrained. 4) Follow-up and On-going support. A scheduled telephone call 2 weeks after the course to see how your child is improving, any troubleshooting, answering questions, and discussion as to how to further improve. If you need more support or additional classes, it is provided for up to a year. Fees The cost is $350. There is a family rate available as well as a discounted group rate for several children to do the program together. |
